PTU, B.Tech, Production Engineering, 3rd Sem.,-Theory of Machines(PE-207) Papers
Students of production engineering during the 3rd semester of the course have to learn theory of machines. At the end of the 3rd semester, they need to face the exam of this subject. This is one of the most important subjects for production engineers.
Paper pattern
The question paper is divided into three sections, A, B and C. Section A is compulsory and all the questions from this section have to be answered by the candidates. . Section A consists of ten short answer type questions. Section B consists of five out of which three have to be answered. This section consists of questions which are to be answered in two to three sentences. Section C consists of three question out of which two are to be answered. Questions regarding diagrams which require the candidates to draw diagrams are found every year in the question paper. Each main question is not divided into sub questions.
Marking scheme
The paper is for a total mark of 60. Section A contributes 20 marks. Section B and C are also for 20 marks. The candidates need to show clearly the steps involved in numerical problems. Special marks are allotted for clearly showing the steps.
Duration of the paper
The candidates are allotted three hours for answering the question paper. Within this allotted time, the candidates need to finish answering all the questions as per the instructions, Before the start of the exam, candidates will be allotted 15 minutes for reading the question paper so as to clear any doubts they might encounter by consulting the invigilator. No extra time will be allotted whatever the case may be.
About the subject
The subject is mainly on physics regarding machines. It is a subject in which numerical problems are given a lot of importance. Referring to previous year question paper will help to crack the exam with ease.
