Institute profile: CSSRI was established as a part of the ICAR system in the year 1969. This institute is actively involved in increasing the productivity by management of salt affected soils and proper treatment of the saline water and making it usable for agricultural purposes.

Job profile: The research associates are required to carry out research and development work in various fields like soil management, water resources etc. They will also be required to work on different projects.

Eligibility: A candidate must not exceed the age of 40 (Men) and 45 (Women) years for the post of Research Associate and 35 (Men) and 40 (Women) years for the post of Senior/Junior Research Fellow.

Educational Qualifications: A candidate must have a first class M.TECH/ME/MSc OR PhD in remote sensing, irrigation engineering, soil sciences, GIS, Geoinformatics, Geomatics, Computer Applications or IT etc and a relevant experience in the related fields.

No. of posts: There are 3 posts for Research Associates, 1 for JRF and 4 for SRF in different projects.

Pay scale: The pay scale for a research associate is Rs18000 + HRA as per rules and Rs 12000 + HRA for a SRF and Rs8000 + HRA for a JRF.

Selection procedure: The candidates will be selected on the basis of the merit. They will have to appear in a walk-in-interview to be held on 10th and 11th August 2009 at 10.00 AM at the institute.
