Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBPF) has invited applications from HSC holders for the position of Assistant Sub Inspector/Stenographer. Selection of eligible candidate is done on the basis of Physical Test, Written Exam, Skill Test etc.


Eligibility for Assistant Sub Inspector/Stenographer in ITBP

Pass in 12th class or HSC from any recognized board is the basic qualification required. Age of the candidate must be between 18 and 25 years. They should have basic knowledge on computer application and should have dictation and transcription skills.

Selection Process for Assistant Sub Inspector/Stenographer in ITBP

Height bar Test

The first stage for elimination is height bar test. Those who do not satisfy the required height requirements will be eliminated.

Race

Candidates who got qualified in the height bar test can move to the next level of the selection process. Second level is a running race which is only of qualifying in nature. Time duration for this running race is 10 minutes.

Document Verification

Successive stage of recruitment after race is document verification. Candidates need to bring both original as well as photocopies of the specified documents. Original certificates can be returned after verification where as photo copies should be kept along with the application form.

Physical Standard Test (PST)

Those candidates whose documents are found complete will be subjected to Physical Standard Test. Here candidates will be screened for weight measurements and chest.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Those with adequate physical standards must qualify the physical efficiency test also. The test criterion varies for male and female candidates. Long jump and high jump are the sports items entertained in this section. This section is qualifying in nature and carries no special marks.

There is an exception in case of ex-servicemen. They are not required to qualify race or Physical Efficiency Test (PET). However, they do qualify in other sections of the selection process for final selection.

Written Examination

Written examination is conducted for 100 marks. Questions for the test will be asked from the following topics.

  • General Awareness
  • General English
  • General Hindi
  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • Simple Reasoning

There will be 20 objective model questions in each section carrying 20 marks (each section).

Skill Test

Short hand and typing are the main areas that are evaluated under skill test. The test is carried out for 100 marks which includes dictation and transcription.

Merit list will be prepared after evaluating candidate’s performance in each successive stage. Reserved category candidates can expect relaxation in marks.
