Shri Shivaji College of Agricultural Biotechnology was established in the year 2004 under the educational control of Dr. Punjabrao Deshmukh Agricultural University situated at Akola.

The college is offering education through five of its department namely animal biotechnology, food biotechnology, crop science, biochemistry & molecular biology and plant biotechnology.

Course Details:

Shri Shivaji College of Agricultural Biotechology is offering Bachelor of Agricultural Biotechnology course and the duration of the course is four years, which is divided into 8 semesters covering 160 credits.

The intake capacity of the college for this course is 40 students, which is inclusive of 20% of management quota seats.

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates who have completed their higher secondary examination in science stream or any other equivalent education with mathematics, English, chemistry, biology and physics can apply for the course.

In the case of students who have not studied mathematics at their higher secondary level, they will have to take up the deficiency course offered by the affiliating university.

Admission Procedure:

Admission of students to the B. Sc course offered by Shri Shivaji College of Agricultural Biotechnology will be taken care by the Maharashtra Council of Agricultural Education and Research through Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Limited.

Fee structure:

Candidates, who are selected for the course, will have to pay a total fees of Rs. 71326 per year, which includes university fees of Rs. 6326 and tuition fees of Rs. 65000.

As far as students seeking admission through management quota is concerned, fee will be decided according to the rules of Maharashtra Council of Agricultural Education and Research.

Shri Shivaji College of Agricultural Biotechnology is provided with well-equipped laboratories for different branches like computer, bioinformatics, botany, agronomy and horticulture, biopesticide production, microbiology, plant pathology, entomology, animal biotechnology, food biotechnology, biochemistry, molecular biology and plant biotechnology.
