SNDT Women’s University offers undergraduate engineering programes in the fields of Electronics & communication, Information Technology and Computer Science Engineering through its subsidiary Usha Mittal Institute of Technology. SNDT is a UGC recognised University which was established in 1916 in Pune for education of women. In 1951 the university moved to Mumbai. The University is highly recognised and provides a number of certificates, UG, PG, research and Diploma courses for women in variety of fields.

This prestigious University has made lots of names for the social benefits that it had caused in the long run. The University is renowned for its immense nature of contribution that it has made in the society concerning to the women education. The enormous upliftment of several women belonging to different backgrounds has enabled them to look for an upheaval in the society thereby marking themselves with ethics and respect. The University has also extended hands in proper training of these women candidates thereby providing them excellent placement in the final year, thus making them liberal in their own manner. Thus the unique contribution of the University towards Women section is quite commendable in its own aspect.

SNDT started offering Engineering Programmes in 1997. It admits all its aspiring candidates to its various programmes offered by SNDT through Maharashtra CET conducted by Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra. Total number of seats for BE programme in the institute is 180.

Eligibility Criteria:

A candidate applying for this college should be a female and should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination. The candidate should have English, Physics, and Chemistry & Mathematics as their main subjects. The candidates should have secured at least 50% marks in aggregate and in PCM.

The candidates belonging to the state of Maharashtra can secure 5 % less than the benchmark fixed for applying candidates. Even candidates belonging to the backward classes also get these relaxations. Those candidates who will be giving their 10+2 examination in 2011 can also apply for this examination.

The interested candidates are supposed to bring their certificates and important documents when asked by the university, otherwise the candidates will be declared in eligible. Those candidates who are availing special advantages on the basis of caste or state domicile are required to present their respective certificates of proof at the time of counseling or when the college asks.

Apart from all these criterions, the criteria fixed for MAH CET examination is also to be followed by the aspiring candidates.

How to Apply:

In order to get in to this institution, one will have to qualify MAH-CET. Application Forms for the MAH-CET examination will be available at various schools and junior colleges listed by the authority. The list can be availed from the website of the college.
