Directorate General Border Security Force was established on December 1, 1965. The headquarters of the Border Security Force is located in the state of Delhi. Mr. Raman Srivastava is the Director General of the force. The Border Security Force is a component of the paramilitary forces of India. The major objective of the force is to guard the international borders of the country during peacetime. The another major function of the force is to prevent transnational crime.

Job Profile:

Eligible Indian Citizens are invited to apply for the Group ‘A’ post of Specialist Medical Officer (Deputy Commandant) and Assistant Medical Officer (Deputy Commandant) in various CPOs or Central Police Forces. Canidates will be appointed in Border Security Force, CRPF, ITBP, SSB and Assam Rifles under Ministry of Home Affairs.

Eligibility:

Candidates are required to have attained the maximum age limit i.e. 35 years for the post of Specialist Medical Officer (Deputy Commandant). For the post of Assistant Medical officer (Deputy Commandant), the maximum age limit or the upper age limit set is 30 years. Candidates who are interested in applying for any of the two specified posts, should not exceed the maximum age limit set or else their application will be discarded straightaway. Relaxation in age is to be provided to the reserved categories candiates only.

Physical Standards:

Height : 157.5 cms for MaleS and 142 for Females.
Chest: 77cms (Unexpanded) and 82 cms (Expanded). Not applicable for Female candidates.
Weight: should be proporionate to the height of candidates.

Educational Qualification:

For the post of Specialist Medical Officers (Deputy Commandant): Candidates should possess a recognized medical qualification of allopathic system of medicines included under the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Candidates should also possess Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in the concerned speciality with atleast 1 and half years of exprience.

For the post of Medical Officers (Assistant Commandant): Candidates should possess a recognized medical qualification of allopathic system of medicines included under the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.

Specialist Medical Officer (Deputy Commandant): Total 240 posts.
Medical Officer (Deputy Commandant): Total 335 posts.

Pay Scale:

Specialist Medical Officer (Deputy Commandant): Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 6600.
Medical Officer (Deputy Commandant): Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.

Selection Committee:

Selection of candidates will be made only through the conduct of personal interview test only. No other means or mode of selection is acceptable.

How to apply: Eligible candidates should send the application forms completely filled in all respect on or before the last date for the reciept of applications. Candidates should also send the required certificates in support of their application. Applications alongwith the other required enclosures must be sent in a cover superscribed as “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF SPECIALIST MEDICAL OFFICERS (DEPUTY COMMANDANT)/ MEDICAL OFFICERS (ASSISTANT COMMANDANT)” IN CPFS-2011.
