Border Security Force was formed on December 1, 1965 under the Government of India. The headquarter of the force is located at Force Headquarters, CGO Complex, Lodhi Road, New delhi. Mr. Raman Srivastava is the Director General of the force. The force is an important component of the paramilatry forces of the country. The major objective behind the establishment of the force was to have a responsible body for gaurding the international borders of the country during the peacetime.
