Life Insurance Corporation of India is a government owned corporation and also the largest investor of the country. The corporation was established on September 1, 1956 with its headquarter located at Mumbai, India. There are approximatley 2048 branches of the corporation located in the different cities of the country. The corporation has a network of around 1.2 million agents. LIC Housing Finance Limited, LIC (Nepal) Ltd., LIC (Lanka) Ltd. and LIC BSC are the subsidiaries of the corporation.

Job Profile:

Applications on the prescribed performa are invited from well qualified candidates for the position of Assistant the the central office of Life Insurance Corporation of India located at Mumbai. Only Outstanding Sportsperson (who are also Indian Citizens) are allowed to apply for the appointment in the cadre of Assistant in Life Insurance Corporation of India, Mumbai.

Eligibility:

For the candidates from Track and Field Sports Discipline: The maximum age limit set for the post of Assistant is 22 years as on 1 February 2011.
For the candidates from Chess and Carrom Sports Discipline: The maximum age limit set for the post of Assistant is 25 years as on 1 February 2011.

Educational Qualification:

Candidates are required to have passed in HSC or 12th Standard of 10+2+3 pattern as minimum educational qualification for the post of Assistant in Life Insurance Corporation of India, Mumbai. Candidates should have represented the country in International Tournaments and should also have won a gold, silver or bronze medal at the National Tournaments.

No. of posts: Total 75 posts are available.

Pay Scale: Candidates will be provided the monthly salary i.e. Rs. 7640-21050 per month. Candidates will alos be paid the other allowances as well alongwith city compensatory allowance, house rent allowance etc.

Application Fee:

A Demand Draft of Rs. 250 is to be submitted as application fee. No fee is to be submitted by candidates belonging to SC/ST categories. The Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of Life Insurance Corporation of India payable at Mumbai. Candidates are required to write their name and address on the back side of the demand draft.

Selection Process:

Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their proficiency in sports. Only shortlisted eligible candidates will be called for the selection trails through call letters. Only qualified candidates of the selection trails, will be called for the final interview test.

How to apply: Attested copies of SSC certificates, HSC markesheets etc are need to be sent in support of the completely filled in application form. Attested copies of sports achievement certificates and dd of requisite application fee is also need to be sent in support of the application.
