This college was founded in the year 1994 and is managed by Sriram Educational Trust which started a higher secondary school initially. Now the trust maintains an engineering college, arts and science college, a polytechnic college, a hotel management college, and an institute of management studies.

The entire group of educational institutes is located in North Chennai rendering good quality education to the students in that zone. The affiliation is with Anna University, Chennai and all the courses offered here are accredited with National Board of Accreditation, (NBA). The college has proudly produced University rank holders during the past years.
