The Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) was established in 1954 as the Atomic Energy Establishment, the Trombay (AEET). BARC is the primary nuclear research facility of India. It is located in Mumbai. BARC has many nuclear reactors. The best point to be mentioned about BARC is that its nuclear reactors are used for research and nuclear programmes in the country. The first reactors at BARC were mainly brought from the west. It is also involved in conducting research in biotechnology field. BARC has even developed many disease resistant and high-yielding crop varieties such as high quality groundnuts. It is further involved in conducting research in Liquid Metal Magnetohydrodynamics for power generation.

Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC) Mumbai invites applications for the post of Stipendiary Trainees Category–I (As Scientific Assistant/B).

Pay Scale – Stipend is Rs.9300 pm and Pay Scale after training is Rs.9300-34800 + Grade Pay Rs.4200
Eligibility:
Age Criteria – Lower age limit for the post is 19 yrs and upper age limit is 24 yrs. (Relaxable as per rules).
Educational Qualification - Candidates should have specific educational qualification as prescribed by Bhabha Atomic Research Centre. For complete details refer to the website of BARC at http://barc.gov.in/recruitment/vacancy35.pdf.
Physical Standards: To apply to the post, candidates must be physically fit with minimum height - 160 cms and minimum weight - 45.5 Kgs. (Relaxable as per rules if medically fit.)
