Canter for Development of Advance Computing is a premier Research and Development organization which comes under the control of Department of Information Technology. The centre carries out Research and Development actitivies in the field of Information Technology, Electronics etc under Ministry of Communications & Information Technology. The main reason behind the establishment of CDAC was to build supercomputers in context of denial of import of supercomputers by USA. The centre aims to achieve rapid and effective spread of knowledge by overcoming language barriers.
