The Union Public Service Commission gives regular challenging examinations to appoint aspirants for civil and administrative services. Electronics and Telecommunication is a subject that deals with the components of the electronic appliances and its basic functions which get complex as we proceed ahead. Paper Pattern

The question paper of UPSC, Engineering Services Exam, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, and Paper II deals with questions based on authenticity of basic ideas that are required in practical life of Electronics and Telecommunication. Question paper is based upon a single multiple choice question pattern with four choices as answers. The multiple choices are distinguished into objective questions and questions related with assertions and reasoning abilities. The paper pattern is general and similar to all the competitive type examination. Question pattern is aligned according to their categories and the type of questions varies within their category. Allotment of marks is also given at the starting page of the question booklet.

Frequently asked questions are usually extracted from the common practical books of Electronics and Telecommunication. Components and their uses are commonly and frequently asked. All the basic information on telecommunication are asked in the form of reasoning and assertion. These questions are again divided into multiple choices and objective answers to choose from. Some questions are taken from the previous question papers and are frequently asked in varying form. These questions relate o the ethics and information on telecommunication.

Maximum Marks and Time Allotted

The maximum marks allotted to the question paper are two hundred marks and is divided into one mark each for each question asked. A total of 120 questions are to be answered and they are divided according to their importance. The maximum time allotted for the completion of the paper is two hours.
