The Engineering Services Examination is a prestigious recruitment entrance exam conducted by the UPSC for candidates who have completed their Under-Graduate Engineering degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electronics and Tele-Communications and Electrical engineering. There are five papers namely Paper I or General Ability Test, Paper II or first mains engineering stream paper, Paper III or second mains engineering stream paper, Paper IV as First Final mains engineering stream papers and Paper V as second final mains engineering stream paper. Paper I, II, III, IV and V has a maximum of 200 marks. At the end there is also a personality test of 200 marks. Paper I, II and III are objective types and Paper IV and V are conventional types.
