Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute was established in 1887, and was formerly known as Victoria Jubilee Technical Institute, and it got its existing name in the year 1997. The institute is one of the best institutes of the region offering degree courses in Engineering and Technology, with a total student base of 3,000 students.

Campus

The institute is situated in a large area with a main institutional building, an administrative block, and hostels. The institutional building consists of modern classrooms, along with well equipped laboratories, and workshops. A well stocked library with a large hall and over 2 lakh volumes of books and periodicals are present in it. Hostel facilities are provided to both boys and girls separately with a carrying capacity of over 1500 students. The Institute preserves its heritage along with keeping pace with the modern changes of the world.

Courses Offered

The institute offers undergraduate B. Tech, postgraduate M. Tech., and Diploma courses in the following departments: Physics, Civil & Environmental, Technical & Applied Chemistry,  Computer Technology , Electrical, Mathematics, Production, Structural ,Textile Manufacturing, Mechanical, Humanities & Management .

Admission Procedure

The students are selected through their performance in the Maharashtra CET and also the AIEEE examinations. The college also fills seats based on the management quota but the students should have appeared in any of these examinations.

Placements

The College is well known and renowned and various Companies like TCS, CTS, Infosys, Wipro, Bosch, Nokia-Siemens etc. visit the campus and recruit its students. The institute has over 80% students placed in the campus interviews, and the rest opt for higher studies in some of the premier institutes of the country.
