IMI is a well known management institute of India. The institute is in collaboration with another institute of international repute- the Institute for Management Development (IIMD), Lausanne. There are many other institutes with which IMI is associated.

IMI offers a post graduate program in management. The program is Post-Graduate Diploma in Management. The selection to the program is very competitive.

The selection procedure of IMI consists of a screening test followed by a group discussion and an interview. The applicants to the institute are required to take the Common Admission Test conducted by the IIMs. CAT is the screening test for admission to IMI. The test scores from the IIMs are received by IMI for those candidates who have applied for admission to the Institute. The candidates are shortlisted on the basis of CAT score.

NRI students are required to sit for the Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).

The next important components of the selection procedure are Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The institute also evaluates the writing skills of the applicants. This way IMI evaluates the personality and the communicative skills of the applicants.

Overall performance of the applicants is considered for admission to IMI.

The centers of the selection procedures are in Delhi, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Jaipur, Nagpur, Hyderabad, Trivandrum and Bangalore.
