SSLC is Secondary School Leaving Certificate, clearing which marks the qualification of the candidate for two year pre-university preparations.

SSLC Tamil Nadu English Exam consists of three sections, Prose, Poetry and Other Competencies.

The duration of the exam is 2 and half hours and is worth a maximum of 100 marks. The question paper is divided in 3 different sections. The instructions are given on first page specifies clearly to write down question number clearly in the margin.

Section A consists of 4 questions, each question represents a sub section in itself and may contain multiple questions. Each set of question has the marking scheme listed along the subsection. The typical format is 3 marks questions, followed by 5 mark questions and 10 mark questions. The total number of lines in which answer should be wrapped up is mentioned at the beginning of the sub-section. Do not exceed solution way beyond the limit.

Section B consists of poetry questions which is divided in three sub sections to be answered as mentioned. This section is worth 32 marks in total.

Section C comprises of 3 questions each weighing 5 marks.

To fare well in this exam students will need to prepare prose and poetry well. The deadline for the exam is just 2.5 hours!
