TMISAT 2012
Tolani Marine Institute, Pune is one of the best colleges in India that offers Marine Engineering and nautical engineering. Tolani Marine Institute in association with Birla Institute of Science and Technology conduct online entrance examination for admission to B.S. Marine Engineering and B.S. Nautical Technology courses in Tolani Maritime Institute. Birla Institute of Science and Technology offers off campus course for these engineering courses. It offers the students a world class environment for study with a residential campus spread across 100 acres of land. Candidates have the choice of appearing either for TMISAT or BITSAT to enroll into these courses. Those who have appeared for BITSAT once will not be allowed to appear for TMISAT.
Structure of TMISAT
The exam includes online test, personal Interview and Medical Examination:
The TMISAT exam consist of objective type multiple choice questions which covers areas of physics, mathematics, chemistry, analytical problem solving, logic and English. It also tests candidate’s reasoning skills, language skills, problem solving skills, general knowledge etc.
During personal interview, the applicant will be interviewed by maritime professionals to see to that the candidates are eligible to join the course. Besides communication skills, clarity of thought and reasoning skills the extracurricular talents and abilities will also be tested.
Candidates will be taken for medical checkup to ensure that they are physical fit for the course.
Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for male and female differs for TMISAT. Male candidates who are born on or after September 1st. 1991 can apply for the 2012 test. The government provides 2 years concession for female candidates. Females born after September 1st 1988 can also apply for the 2012 test. Married candidates are not supposed to apply for the test.
In order to apply for the test candidates should have scored at least 60% marks in mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in their secondary level education (10+2) or its equivalent and minimum 50% marks in English in 10th or 10+2.
The candidates applying should be physically fit with 6/6 vision in both eyes. They are required to have a medical checkup before applying.
How to Apply?
The application forms for TMISAT will be available from the month of January from Tolani Maritime Institute and also from Axis Bank branches. To obtain the form through post, a demand draft of Rs 850/- in favor of Tolani Marine Institute should be send along with a request letter. The application fees is non refundable. The contact details of the candidates and the form number should be written at the back side of the Draft. Application forms are also available in the official website of TMISAT, www.tolani.edu.
How to fill the Form?
Candidates are requested to fill the form in English in neat and eligible handwriting by following the rules and regulations laid down in the prospectus. The details required in the form should be written correctly without any cuts or over writing. One applicant is supposed to fill only one application form. A copy of the application form should be kept with the applicant for future correspondence. Applicants should make sure that the address and other personal details filled in the form are correct. Any occurrence of mistake will lead to rejection of application form.

Score Validity
Tolani Maritime Institute Admission Test (TMISAT) provides one year validity for the published score and the candidates can use the score for the admission process.
