Accountancy or accounting is the art of presenting financial information of any business organization to users such as share holders and managers, which is generally in the form of financial statements. In common words, we know accountancy as the primary and most sought after subject in the department of commerce. Students having qualification in this field have very good knowledge of monetary matters and are generally termed as accountants. The main fields of accountancy are: cost, finance, forensic fund, management and tax. The study of accountancy also includes auditing and financial statements. Good accountants are always wanted in financial institutions, and it is needless to say the importance of financial institutions in the management of any society.
Eligibility Criteria
In order to be able to pursue masters in Accountancy, candidates must have earned their bachelors degree in B.Com in Accountancy (Hons). The candidate must have a valid degree from any respectable university before starting for his master’s degree.

The course of M.Com in Accountancy is of two years duration. In few universities, the course is further divided into four semesters while some stick with the yearly terms.
Job Prospects
Students having passed their masters level with accountancy as their majors subject have job prospects as accountants, financial managers, stock exchange employees, professionals in investment banks and other financial institutions, tax authorities, and regulators. They are also awarded with jobs in public and private agencies for resource allocation. They also manage the area of book-keeping, balance sheets of the companies, their debit and credit status etc.
