AMIETE holds examination for ET or Electronics and Telecom Engineering twice a year, once in the month June and other in the month of December. This particular stream of ET has a group of compulsory and elective subjects; and Digital hardware design falls in the later category. Although Digital hardware design papers have been put in electives, it must not be forgotten that this subject forms the very core of the electronics stream.

Eligibility Criteria

It is important to discuss eligibility criteria before we move on with paper pattern, because if you are not eligible you wouldn’t want to read on. Basic criteria which features in each and every engineering or technical examination is that the must have passed 12th (10+2) standard exam with mathematics, physics and chemistry as subjects and this paper is no exception. Along with this, you must have either completed your engineering in electrical or electronics or telecommunication streams from institutions recognized by the IETE council. Besides, if you are 18 and you have DIPIETE diploma, you are eligible.

Paper Pattern

Paper on digital hardware design has 9 questions. Question number 1 is mandatory and must be answer in the supplied answer book itself. From the remaining 8 questions, you have the option to chose any 5. Moreover, question number 1 belongs to the category of multiple choice questions and the rest 5 are subjective. One very important point, which would already be there in the question paper but worth mentioning is if any required or essential data is not given explicitly must be stated and assumed suitably.
