There are two types of M.Sc courses in Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Pusa which are M.Sc. in Hospitality Administration and M.Sc. in Dietetics and Food Service Management. M.Sc. in Hospitality Administration course is offered by National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCMHCT) in collaboration with Indira Gandhi Open University (IGNOU). Candidates are required to follow regulations specified by NCMHCT for pursuing this course. But to pursue M. Sc. in Dietetics and Food Service Management course, one should follow the guidelines formulated by the IHM itself. There is no upper age limit to pursue M. Sc. in Hospitality Administration while 25 years is the upper age limit specified for admission to M. Sc. in Dietetics and Food Service Management course.

Qualification required for pursuing M.Sc in IHM Pusa

M. Sc. in Hospitality Administration

Candidates need to obtain Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality and Hotel Administration from any institutes affiliated to National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCMHCT) or Indira Gandhi Open University (IGNOU)

OR

Candidates should obtain Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management and Catering Technology from any institute approved by All India Council of Technical Education

OR

Faculty in any Hotel Management institute approved by NCMHCT with minimum 2 years of teaching experience and good academic record

OR

Candidates having 3-year Diploma in Hotel Management and minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in the field of Hotel Management

M. Sc. in Dietetics and Food Service Management

Candidates should have completed graduation in Home Science with Biochemistry as one of the subjects

OR

Candidates need to have Post Graduate Diploma in Dietetics and Hospital Food Service

OR

Candidates are required to obtain Post Graduate Diploma in Dietetics and Public Health Nutrition

Admission process for M.Sc in IHM Pusa

M. Sc. in Hospitality Administration

Admission to this course is done by National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCMHCT). It will be based on the marks obtained during qualifying examination like B.Sc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration or Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management and Catering Technology. Sponsored candidates like faculty members of any of the institutes of NCMCT or 3-year Diploma holders in Hotel Management with work experience will be admitted on supernumerary basis.

Interested candidates can download the application form from the official website of NCHMCT. Then they should fill the form as per the instructions given on NCHMCT website. It should be sent along with the application fee and attested copies of mark sheet to the Director of National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology. Application fee should be sent in form of demand draft taken in the name of National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology. It should be payable at Noida/New Delhi. General/OBC candidates should take a demand draft of Rs. 900/- while SC/ST/PH candidates need to take a demand draft of Rs. 450/-.

M. Sc. in Dietetics and Food Service Management

Admission procedure for this M.Sc course is conducted by IHM Pusa itself. Candidates will be admitted on the basis of marks obtained during graduation in Home Science, Post Graduate Diploma in Dietetics and Hospital Food Service or Post Graduate Diploma in Dietetics and Public Health Nutrition.

Those who are interested to pursue this course should first of all download application forms from the official website of IHM Pusa. Then they should send the duly-filled in forms to the Principal of Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Pusa along with a demand draft of Rs. 850/- (Rs.450/- for SC/ST candidates). Demand draft should be taken in the name of Principal, Institute of Hotel Management Catering and Nutrition, Pusa. If the candidates are collecting the form from the reception counter of IHM Pusa, then they need to make a cash payment of Rs.800/- (Rs. 400/- for SC/ST candidates).
