Details on Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) Admission Test 2013
It is necessary to pass Class VII to seek admission in Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC). Selection of suitable candidates is done through written test, viva voce and medical examination. Written exam comprise questions from subject areas like English, Hindi and GK. Application form along with exam prospectus can be collected from RIMC office. The tentative date to submit applications is 31st March 2013.
Eligibility Criteria for RIMC Admission
Those seeking admission to RIMC must have completed class VII from any of the recognized schools. Students who are still studying class VII can also apply for this test provided they are able to complete the studies at that level within the time of RIMC admission. Age of the candidate must be less than 11 1/2 years. On the other hand, candidates need not complete 13 years of age during RIMC admission time.
Selection Procedure for RIMC Admission
In order to get Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) admission, it is necessary for candidates to attend an admission test conducted by the college. The selection procedure to gain admission into RIMC is divided in to 3 main sections -
Section A – Written Examination - RIMC written test includes questions from 3 main papers
- Paper 1 – English (2 hrs)
- Paper 2 – Hindi (1 1/2 hrs)
- Paper 3 – General Knowledge (1 hrs)
It is essential for candidates to clear written examination so as to attend the next level of selection process.
Section B – Viva Voce – Candidates who are able to pass written examination with the specified percentage of marks can attend viva voce. The date of the interview, venue etc will be intimated to the qualified candidates by RIMC authorities. Personality test and intelligence test forms part of the viva voce process. The required marks percentage required to be scored by candidates in written exam and viva voce is 50%.
Section C – Medical Examination – Those candidates who get through both the selection steps namely – written test and viva voce need to undergo a medical examination as well. The medical examination procedures will be conducted at selected medical centers specified by RIMC authority. It is compulsory for candidates to be medically fit and pass the medical test to be considered for receiving admission in to Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC). This medical test forms only a part of different selection procedure and hence passing the same does not guarantee admission.
Application Procedure for RIMC Admission
Candidates can obtain the prospectus along with the application form from RIMC office by sending the specified application fees. Applicants should send the application fees as Demand Draft (DD) of Rs 400/- (registered post) and Rs 450/- (speed post) to the specified address within the prescribed date (SC/ST candidates – Rs 355/- registered post and Rs 405/- speed post). The Demand Draft amount should be taken on behalf of – The Commandant, RIMC, Dehradun, Uttarakhand (Drawee Branch, SBI, Tel Bhavan).
