Admission Procedure in RIMC

Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) recruits a total of 25 candidates every six month to the VIII standard. Only boys can forward their application for joining this institution. Candidates are required to obtain the application form in person or through post from RIMC. Duly filled forms should be submitted to the concerned State government. The concerned authority of RIMC will conduct a written examination for all applicants. If they qualify the test, then they need to appear for a personal interview. RIMC will publish the final selection list according to the score obtained in this entrance test and interview.

Application Procedure

Candidates should first of all purchase the application form and prospectus from RIMC by paying an amount of Rs. 210/- in cash. They can also receive the form and prospectus through post by sending a demand draft of Rs. 250/- drawn in the name of The Commandant RIMC, Dehradun. It should be drawn from any branch of SBI based on the convenience of the candidates. They should write their complete address (in English or Hindi) and contact number while sending the demand draft by registered parcel or courier.

After receiving the application form, one should fill the form properly and send to the respective State government agencies along with three passport size photographs, Birth Certificate and Caste certificate (in case of SC/ST candidates). The concerned certificates should be obtained from the Principal of the school, where they are studying currently.

The age of the candidates should not be less than 11.5 and 13 years while forwarding their application forms to the concerned authority. Also, they should have passed VII standard from any recognized school. Those who are studying in VII standard in any recognized school can also forward their applications.

Selection Procedure

Those who have forwarded their application for joining RIMC should first of all appear for a written examination. This entrance examination will comprises of three papers that is English, Mathematics and General Knowledge. Candidates should write Mathematics paper in English or Hindi medium while General Knowledge can be written in English, Hindi or any regional language. To get qualified in this test, one should obtain minimum of 50% marks for each subject.

There will be a personal interview for all those who have passed the written test. A total of 50 marks is assigned to the personal interview evaluating the personality and intelligence of the candidates. Those who have obtained minimum of 50% marks while calculating the average marks of written test and personal interview will be declared as qualified. Such candidates can join RIMC after undergoing medical examination.
