General Banking Officers, Bank of India, Papers
Bank of India is a major public sector bank of the country. Its head office is in Mumbai. The bank is holding a written test for 1083 vacancies of General Banking Officers in scale I, II, and III.
Written Test
There are both objective and subjective tests. The medium of examination for both the tests can be either Hindi or English. In the objective papers there are three sections. In the section for reasoning ability the number of questions is 100 with maximum marks 100, quantitative aptitude has 50 questions with maximum marks 75 and general awareness on current development section has 50 questions with maximum marks 75. The duration of the objective tests is 2 hours. Negative marking is also there with 0.25 marks cut for each wrong answer.
The minimum qualifying marks for each of the test is 40% for general candidates (35% for SC/ST/OBC) but it is 50% in all the objective test taken together (45% for SC/ST/OBC).
The descriptive test consists of questions to recognize the abilities of the candidates in communication skills and their knowledge on current affairs. The duration of the descriptive exam is 1 hour. Candidates are required to answer 5 compulsory questions with internal options. The maximum marks are 100.
The candidates who secure the minimum cut-off marks and rank sufficiently good in the merit list are later called for a personal interview. It also depends on the number of vacancies. Passing the written test does not guarantee a candidate of a call for the interview.
