i am studying in class 12 . my height is 169cm. i am eligible for nda.

I m in XII th class n im 5feet 7inches long, i hv sound health but my eyesight is -2.0 n -3.0. Can i apply ?

Dear friend,
To appear in the NDA exam you should have the following criteria:
1. You should have passed 10+2 from a recognized board/university with Physics and Maths as mandatory subjects.
2. Your height should be around 5 foot 8 inch.
3. Your eyesight should be 6/6.
4. You must be very much physically fit as per their normal rues.

Candidate should complete the 12th with science (physics,chemistry,math ) from any recognized board .
2. 6/6 vision is required.
3.Age limit = 16.5 to 19 years.

If you can satisfy all of the above you are eligible.

NDA-I exam notification for this year:
Issue of application form from 31st Dec 2011 to 30th Jan 2012.
Exam will held on 15th April 2012.

NDA-II exam notification for this year:
Issue of application form from 5th May 2012 to 4th June 2012.
Exam will held on 19th Aug 2012.

I am so sorry but i don't think you are eligible for the NDA(National Defense Academy) as they need a perfect eyesight of 6/6 without the spectacles..

You can try for the exam anyway but then you shall be disqualified in the medical examination round..

this exam is conductede by UPSC every year for two time in a year,for appear in this exam you must have to complete your 12th in PCM group with at least 60%.
the age limit for this exam is 16.5-19.
this exam is only for unmarried males.

NDA - NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY exam conducted by UPSC twice every year for entry in to Indian Army, Navy and Air Force wing of NDA.

The eligible candidate must be an unmarried Indian male having either appear for the final 12th exam or pass in any stream from a recognised Board within the age of 16.5 to 19 years with good Physical Fitness.

There is certain prescribed Physical requirement for the candidate aspiring for NDA. The attached file herewith may be referred while applying for NDA.

Your height is alright,since the required height for NDA is 157.5cm,but there may a problem with your eyesight.It is not a big matter because once you get qualified in the written exam and S.S.B interview,you will be given some time to get your eye sight cured.so,dont worry about your eye sight,focus on your skills.

N.D.A. exam is conducted by UPSC twice a year.
NDA stands for National Defence Academy.

The students of 12th appearing or 12th passed are allowed to apply for NDA exam.

The age of candidate must br from 16.5 to 19 years.

The candidate must be unmarried male.

The process of NDA Exam consists of following steps:

>>Written Examination
>>SSB Interview
>>Medical test.

The minimum height required is 157.5 cms.

The eye sight of candidate for better eye must be 6/6 or 6/9 and for worse eye must be 6/12 or 6/9. The glass or spectacles correction is permissible.

The candidate must be physically and mentally fit.
He should not have knocked knee or flat foot.

NDA exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission twice in every year.

Academic Qualification:-Candidate must have passed 12 exam with 60% from any recognized education board. Candidates who want to join Indian Air Force or Indian Navy must have Physics and Maths as compulsory subjects.
