NDA stands for National Defence Academy. NDA offers following Defence wings...
-Indian Arny -Indian Navy -Indian Air Force NDA exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) of India. Eligibility criteria for NDA: Indian Army-Must passed 12th standard in any stream from central or state board of education. Indian Navy- Must passs 12th standard with Science(PCM) stream. Indian Air Force-Must passs 12th standard with Science(PCM) stream. Age limit- Must be in between 16.5 to 19 years. Nationality- Indian. Sex- Male(Unmarried). Physical Qualification Required for NDA:--->> Height/Weight for NDA Chest Minimum requirement is 84cm and they should be able to expand the chest for 5cm. Visual Standard for NDA Other than these physical criteria you have to go through following fitness test... Running- 2.5 to 3 km with in 15 minus. NDA is nothing but National defence academy. The following are the eligibility criteria for the NDA exam: 1.The minimum educational qualification for the NDA exam is 12th standard in any stream. 2. Age must between 16.5years to 19years. 3. Only mail unmarried person is allowed. Written test: 1reasoning aptitude. 2.english language awareness. For National Defence Academy you have to qualify NDA exam which is conducted by UPSC every year twice. You must have following qualifications if you want to apply for NDA exam:
-10+2 or equivalent pass from a recognized board of education. -Age between 16.5 to 19 years. -Unmarried Indian Male If you satisfy above criteria then you can apply for NDA exam. For physical fitness you should not have following ailments: -Flat Foot -Knock Knee -Varicose Veins -Color Blindness If you will have any of the above ailments then you will be rejected in the medical examination. In addition you must have desired height and weight according to defence rules. For detailed information about Defence physical fitness download the attachment. |

NDA - National Defence Academy, entrance exam for which is conducted by UPSC twice every year for an entry in to Indian Army, Navy and Air Force wing of NDA.
The eligible candidate aspiring for NDA, must be an unmarried Indian male having either appear for the final 12th exam or pass in any stream from a recognised Board within the age of 16.5 to 19 years with good Physical and Mental health. Physical Requirements For NDA National Defense Academy Exam is conducted by UPSC every year in the months of April and August.. General Physical standard
The candidate must be in good physical and mental health and free from any disease/disability which is likely in interfere with the efficient performance of military duties. A candidate should have no past history of mental breakdown or fits. There should be no evidence of weak constitution, bodily defects or under weight. The candidate should not be overweight or obese. Chest should be well developed. Fully expanded chest should not be less than 81 cms. The minimum range of expansion after full inspiration should be 5 cms. X-Ray of the chest is compulsory and will be taken to rule out any disease of the chest. There should be no disease of bones and joints of the body. X-ray of spine of candidates will not be carried out as a routine except for Air Force unless advised by surgical specialist. Routine ECG and EEG for Air Force candidates must be within normal limits. Minimum acceptable height will be 157.5 cms. (162.5 cms for Air Force) For Gorkhas and individuals belonging to hills of North Eastern regions of India, Garhwal and Kumaon, minimum acceptable height will be 152.5 cms. For candidates from Lakshadweep, minimum acceptable height can be reduced by 2 cms. A ± 10% (A ± 6 Kg for Navy) departure from the average weight given in the table 1 is considered within normal limit. For individuals with heavy bones and broad build as well as individuals with thin but otherwise healthy, this limit may be further relaxed to some extent on merit. Height relaxable upto 2.5 cm (5 cm. for Navy) may be allowed where the Medical Board certifies that the candidate is likely to grow and come up to the required standard on completion of his training. On account of lower age of NDA candidates, a margin of 2.5 cm. in leg length (minimum) and 1.0 cm. sitting height (minimum) may be given provided it is certified by the Medical Board that the candidate is likely to grow and come upto the required standard on completion of his training in NDA. Teeth Conditions The candidates should have sufficient number of natural and sound teeth. A minimum of 14 dental points will be acceptable. A candidate should not be suffering from severe pyorrhoea. Ear, Nose and Throat Conditions The hearing should be normal. A candidate should be able to hear a forced whisper with each ear at a distance of 610 cms in a quite room. There should be no evidence of present or past disease of the ear, nose and throat. Audiometric test will be done for AF. Audiometric loss should not exceed+20 db in frequencies between 250Hz and 4000 Hz. There is no impediment of speech. Vision Standards For Naval Candidates: Uncorrected without glass 6/6 Corrected with glass 6/6 Limits of Myopia -0.75 Limits of Hypermetropia +1.5 Limits of Colour Perception I Binocular Vision III Ocular Muscle Balance Heterophoria with the Maddox Rod Test must not exceed: At 6 meters Exophoria 8 prism dioptres, Esophoria 8 prism dioptres. Hyperphoria 1 prism dioptres. At 33 cm Exophoria, 16 prism dioptres. Esophoria 6 prism dioptres. PHYSICAL QUALIFICATION FOR FOR NDA Medical Examination Process: A candidate recommended by the Services Selection Board will undergo a medical examination by a Board of Service Medical Officers. The proceedings of the Medical Board are confidential and the candidate declared unfit are intimated by the President of the Medical Board. The National Defence Academy has no role to play in the conduct of NDA Entrance Examination and selection of cadets. Eligibility Criteria : Age between 16 ½ to 19 yrs as of first day of the month in which course is due to commence Qualification 12th Class of 10+2 System of Education/Equivalent for Army and with Physics and Maths for AF/Navy Marital Status Unmarried Application to be Received by As per UPSC notification Likely SSB Date Sep to Oct and Jan to Apr Date Commencement of Training Jan and Jul Training Academy NDA , Khadakwasla, Pune Duration of Training 3 Yrs at NDA and 1 Yrs at IMA(For Army cadets)/ 3 Yrs at NDA and 1 Yrs at Naval Academy(For Naval cadets)/ 3 Yrs at NDA and 1 & 1/2 Yrs at AFA Hyderabad (For AF cadets) Physical requirements Height 160cms, Chest 80cms and they should be able to expand the chest for more 5cm.
