Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences was established as a reputed medical institute of Ranchi University in Ranchi. The institute actually came into existence under an act of Jharkhand Assembly. The institute is an autonomous body and is considered as one of the premier medical college present in the state. The institute is well known for providing free medical services to the people. The institute was established in the year 1960. The first ever principal of the college or institute is Dr. N. L. Mitra. The institute was initially called Rajendra Medical College Hospital.

The vacancies are available in various departments or disciplines i.e. Urology, Cardiology and Cardiothoracic.

1. Recruitment of Professor:
No. of posts: Only 3 posts are available.
Age Limit: Maximum age limit set is 58 years as on 31 March 2012.
Educational Qualification: M.Ch. or DM in concerned subject from a recogniuzed institute with minimum three years of experience as Associate Professor or Reader in a recognized institute.
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 8700.

2. Recruitment of Associate Professor:
No. of posts: Only 10 posts are available.
Age Limit: Maximum age limit set is 50 years as on 31 March 2012.
Educational Qualification: M.Ch. or DM in concerned subject from a recogniuzed institute with minimum two years of experience as Assistant Professor in a recognized institute.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 7600.

3. Recruitment of Assistant Professor:
No. of posts: Only 11 posts are available.
Age Limit: Maximum age limit set is 50 years as on 31 March 2012.
Educational Qualification: M.Ch. or DM in concerned subject from a recogniuzed institute with minimum three years of experience as Resident or Registrar or Demonstrator in a recognized institute.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 6600.

4. Recruitment of Senior Resident:
No. of posts: Only 15 posts are available.
Age Limit: Maximum age limit set is 35 years as on 31 March 2012.
Educational Qualification: Post Graduate degree or Diploma in the concerned subject from a recognized institute. However, candidates with DM or M.CH. degree will get preference over others at the time of final selection.
Pay Scale: Rs. 9300-34800 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.

An application fee for Rs. 500 is need to be submitted by the candidates in the form of a Demand Draft in support of their application. Application fee for SC/ST candidates is Rs. 250 only.
