Ministry of Agriculture was established under the Government of India. It was established as an apex body with the aim of having a responsible body for the formulation and administration of the rules and regulations and laws relating to the field of agriculture in the country. Cabinet Minister Sharad Pawar is the head of this ministry. The Ministry of Agriculture has three departments which includes Department of Agriculture and Co-operation, Department of Agriculture Research and Education and Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries.
