Birla Vishvakarma Mahavidyalaya is counted amongst the oldest engineering colleges of India. It started on its mission to impart higher technical education in the year 1948. It was known to be the first college that offer engineering courses in Gujarat. The institution started its journey with three branches in the year of 1948. From 2001 the college started to provide six branches with a capacity of 420.

Campus:

Birla Vishvakarma Mahavidyalaya is built up in an area of 39290 sq.m, provides very good infrastructure and also has very well organized campus. The campus houses a library with all sorts of necessary books, journals and magazines, workshop, computer and internet labs. This institution has an auditorium with a capacity of 300 people.

The institution offers BE courses in Civil (120), Computer Engineering (60), Electrical (60), Electronics & Telecomm (60), Electronics (75), Information Technology (60), Mechanical (90), and Production Engineering (30). It offers ME Structural Engineering (18), Computer Engineering (25). Construction Engineering & Management (18) and Environmental Engineering (18), Machine Design (18), MTech Transportation System,  Ph.D in Electrical Engineering (Ph.D), Mechanical Engineering Civil Engineering, Structural and Transportation Engineering.

Admission Procedure:

The aspirants have to collect an application form and submit it within the given date for the specified course. A merit list is prepared on the basis of scores obtained by the candidates in the Gujarat Common Entrance Test.
