ias/ips is the top government job in india.the minimal qualification is graduation.p.u.c certificate might not be sufficient..u need to complete your graduation in any discipline from a recognized university.u need to just pass the graduation course..percentage of marks does not hamper the eligibility criteria.

the minimum qualification required to appear in IAS or IPS examination conducted by UPSC is graduation in any discipline from a recognized institution.

the student who studied three years after 12th they are eligible for IAS or IPS examination.

PUC is the course which is for two years duration after 12th. so i think this is not equivalent to graduation. this is an intermediate course before university. so after PUC you will not be eligible for IAS or IPS.

the other eligibility criterion for IAS and IPS is your age should be in between 21 to 30 if you belongs to general category. for reserved candidate there are relaxation in age as per government rules. you must be Indian resident.

for more eligibility criterion and other details about IAS and IPS examination visit the website http://www.upsc.gov.inthe notification will be also publish in this website and in leading newspaper.

best wishes.

Dear friend the Minimum qualification for appearing in IAS/IPS.. exam i.e. the UPSC civil services exam is Graduation form a recognized university.
In addition Those candidates who are in final year of their graduation courses can also appear subject to condition that they present proof of passing before mains examintion..i.e.
you must have the degree .... Now coming to your case
PUC is not a graduation degree ...short for: Pre University course,
its like a filler/ intermediate course.
So if you want to appear for UPSC-CSE complete your graduation from some recognized university or in final year of graduation appear for cse...
Please remember that the age limit is b/w 21 to 30 years of age for general candidates
and relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST.
General candidates have a maximum number of attempts 4.
Thank you

the answer for your question is

IAS is an central service and also deeply regarded as d most prestigious job..

Like this service there are other 24 services for which a common entrance test is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission)

The main basic eligibility criteria for Civils Service Examination

Hi dear,
Minimum education criteria = Graduate

there is a common entrance exam for both the exam that is CSAT.. Based on the overall ranking and your choice of cadre, you will be provided IFS (Indian Foreign Service), IAS or IPS. The higher your rank, the choice is with you.

How to apply:-You have to apply for UPSC (Union Public Services Commission) exam.

This time UPSC pattern is changed and it is called as CSAT which is coming into effect from Civil Services Examination, 2011.and so there is no option subjects...

It consits of two paper and each paper of Two hrs..

(Paper 1) (200 marks) consists of

Current events.
History
Geography
Indian Polity and governance
Economic and social development
and General science.

It is of purely objective type and qualifying exam...

(Paper II) (200 marks)

Comprehension
Logical reasoning and analytical ability
Decision making and problem solving
General mental ability
Basic numeracy(Class X level)
English language comprehension skills (Class X level)

It is of purely subjective type and followed by interview....

hi dear,
he minimum qualification required to appear in IAS or IPS examination conducted by UPSC is graduation in any discipline from a recognized institution.

the student who studied three years after 12th they are eligible for IAS or IPS examination.

PUC is the course which is for two years duration after 12th. so i think this is not equivalent to graduation. this is an intermediate course before university. so after PUC you will not be eligible for IAS or IPS.

the other eligibility criterion for IAS and IPS is your age should be in between 21 to 30 if you belongs to general category. for reserved candidate there are relaxation in age as per government rules. you must be Indian resident.

for more eligibility criterion and other details about IAS and IPS examination visit the website http://www.upsc.gov.inthe notification will be also publish in this website and in leading newspaper.

thanks
