All India Institute of Medical Sciences is a medical institution located in New Delhi. It is one of the most premier institutions of medical science, and is the first choice, and a doctor’s dream to study here. Highly reputed, and government funded, AIIMS is one where you can find the best doctors of the country, as well as the best treatment for various diseases.
The home page of the website seems to be quite a simple one in the first look, with just three sections, divided into a table with three columns. Each column contains a list linked to pages using plain html, and supported with arrows, but the content of the website is strong, and offers loads of information on various issue, right from about the institute, to finding a doctor, and booking a bed in hospital.
Sections:
The first column contains a photo gallery, along with a scrolling announcement list in the bottom half, towards the right is a second column, which contains a list containing several links in the website viz, About AIIMS, Academic Section, Administration, Central Facilities, Citizen Charter, Conference/Workshops, Current Events, Departments & Centres, Exams & Results, Ethics Committee, Find a Doctor, Patient Care Services, Publications, Research & Clinical Programs, Institutional Biosafety Committee, Awards & Honours. The third column in the home page contains links to the AIIMSONIANS, a guide to heart patients, health information, hostel section, NSS-Unit, Notices and Memorandums, Recruitment, Right to Information Act 2005, and the Students Union link. There is also a link to the AIDS Education and Training Cell.
However the site doesn’t seem well structured, since the links are not categorized, however, the site is powerful in information content, not very professionally designed, but works well for an educational institute like AIIMS, and it fulfills its requirements, as an educational website.
