Difference between BCA (Bachelor of Computer Application) and B.Sc IT (Information Technology)

BCA (Bachelor of Computer Application) is three year undergraduate program for the students who want to excel in the field of computer science. This program consists of six semesters each having duration of six months. In six semesters each student is required to undertake a project and work under an organization for four to six weeks. After the completion of project, the students are required to submit their report.

B.Sc IT (Information Technology) is also a three year undergraduate course having computer science as background. It is an ample program for students who want to specialize in information system and management. The main aim is to prepare students who have good knowledge of theory of core subjects like operating system, data base data structure.

Students involved in BCA are provided with such academic base that leads them to advanced career in Computer Application whereas B.Sc is more about internet, technology and management.

BCA gives a diversified knowledge about applications like C++, financial accounting and management, operation management. But the later deals with internet, information system and management.

Students have a bright future in IT Sector. Students with BCA can start their carrier as junior programmers and can get promoted as senior programmers and project managers. A post graduation in the related field is always preferred. While the students dealing with B.Sc are designated as computer professionals and can start their work as web designer, programmer, database user, network implementer etc.

B.Sc Students can readily compete for higher degrees like M.Sc (IT), MCA and MBA after successful completion of their degree course. The students having BCA can opt for further courses like MCA with additional math with it.

Entrance tests are conducted by various universities and colleges for these courses. It is must that students have completed their HSC (10+2) with Maths.

    sir,
    iam totally confused…now iam working as a graphic designer in a studio..
    but iam decided to for a degree….more peoples says that go for b.com…but iam studied biology science in plus two and i scored very low.
    grade for maths…iam interested only in it field…so i cant go for
    science field…iam interested in mulimedia.but multimedia degree have hig more cash to study..i dont like programming.. so i cant go for bca….
    sir plz give me a advice….plz…immedietly…..

    As a BBI [Bachelor of Banking & Insurance] can i go for M.sc (I.T) or M.C.A or MBA (I.T) course…
    But i didnt completed with Maths in HSC (10+2)..
    So i am i revelant for this course…
