Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism, Bhopal
The University of Journalism i.e. the Makhanlal chaturvedi National University is given the name of the renowned freedom fighter Shri Makhanlal chaturvedi and this gives the tribute to his brave contribution in the freedom struggle of India. The University was established by an act of the legislative assembly in the year 1990. The University is also a member of the association of Indian University and the association of Commonwealth University. The university however does not provide distance learning facility i.e. any correspondence courses in its curriculum.
The various departments for various programmes of studies are deptt. Of CSE and its application, Center for journalism, Center for audio & visual studies, center for mass communication etc. and under these various departments it offers various courses like Bachelor of Journalism, P.G. or the Post graduation diploma in science and technology journalism. Thus the University offers courses at both levels i.e. graduate and under graduate levels of education.
The University provides various facilities for the students in the form of Library and documentation unit which supports all the courses offered by the university across the three campuses. It contains more than ten thousand relevant books, news magazines and other resources of student’s interest among the various fields that are evolving now a day. The University’s all the campuses is given a separate place for the computer lab forming a backbone for communication across the university by the well supported internet facility available to students and for official purposes. The University also owns its own printing press with DTP systems and that has the latest computer technology available for use.
For all the students who want to apply the courses offered by the university from among the university are required to fill in an application form that can be downloaded from the university website for various courses it offers.
