Forensic Expert - How to become a Forensic Expert?
Forensic science is the utilization of a variety of field of science to answer questions regarding legal cases. The job of a forensic scientist is to analyze all the physical proof that is found on a victim or a particular place where the crime has occurred. Those people who conduct this research and determine the cause of each case are called as Forensic Experts. There are many institutions in India that offer interested candidates with courses in Forensic Science. After the conclusion of the course, students can find jobs with the police, the IB, the CBI and other investigative agencies of the government. There are a variety of fields in which forensic experts can specialize. They are: medicine, engineering, fingerprinting and insect study in addition to language and geology. Candidates who are interested to become specialists in postmortems on dead bodies should procure a degree in MBBS and then go for specialization in Forensic Sciences. Besides this, they can also work as teachers. The initial salary of forensic experts will be around Rs. 8,000 – Rs. 10,000 a month. Professionals in the field can charge as much as Rs. 1 lakh per case.
Qualifying Exam
Many colleges and autonomous institutions carry out admission tests for the admission of candidates into PG and PG diploma courses in Forensic Science. Some of them are:
Amity Institute of Behavioral Health & Allied Science Forensics entrance exam, Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Science entrance exam, IIT- JEE Forensics Science entrance exam, UGC – NET forensic science entrance exam.
Who is eligible to apply?
Candidates who are applying for this course should be permanent residents of India. They are required to have a Masters degree in forensic science in order to specialize in any topic of their preference. After finishing their graduation, it is possible for the candidates pursue diploma programs in Criminology and Forensic Science.
How to prepare for exam and interview?
When the students are appearing for the written exam, they must be well prepared in topics relating to forensic science and its many aspects. They can also prepare for the exam by reading articles or journals related to the subject. More details information can also be gathered from the internet. At the time of the interview, the candidates must be prepared to answer personal questions as well as questions regarding forensics. They should be modest when replying.
