B.Sc In Applied Science
The Applied Science course in India mainly entails a detailed emphasis is given on the following areas of study: Palaeobotany and Morphology, Microbiology (which includes Pathology, Mycology and Phycology, Plant Physiology). This three year programme is complimented by practical application of the material done during the course and involves first hand access and training in the laboratories and research facilities.
Eligibility Criteria
The student applying for this course must have Math and Biology at the higher secondary Level. The student may also have to give an entrance exam in some colleges and universities. There are limited seats for this course. Therefore it is important to have a good score at the higher secondary level as well as in the entrance exam.
Course Outlook
In the three year duration of the course the student is exposed to an array of different aspect involved in the field of applied sciences. There is a great emphasis on hands on training combined with the necessary theory work. The students are required to keep an updated journal and assignment for each semester according to the core subject and the electives.
Job Prospects
Most of the students are selected through campus recruitments and job fairs. They get placed as a trainee in most organizations and then gradually climb the organizational ladder. Many students also opt for research or higher studies or specialization in the same field.
