Annamalai University offers a post graduate diploma in Actuarial Science through distance education. There is a paper named “Advanced Topics in Actuarial Statistics”. This subject forms a vital part of the study of Actuarial Science. All the students of this stream of study should be well versed in this subject. The question paper of this subject consists of 100 marks and, as conventional exams, the time duration is three hours.

The question paper has two distinct sections. The first section or Section A has eight questions in all. Students have to answer any five of the eight given. All the questions are of equal marks, each carrying eight marks.

Section B consists of five questions. Students are required to answer any three. These are very long answer type questions. All the questions are of 20 marks each. Each question consists of sub questions. The paper has both numerical and descriptive questions. Questions are from all parts of the syllabus. Solving the questions papers of previous papers can be of great advantage to the students. Thorough preparation is required to score marks in this subject. It should be mentioned here, that if properly studied, this paper can be very scoring.
