Nirma University is functioning under the guidance of Nirma Education and Research Foundation. The university was established by Government of Gujarat under an Act of legislative assembly. This growth witnessed the combining of all institutions under the Nirma Education and Research Foundation in the name of single entity called as Nirma University. The University Grants Commission has recognized the university under sec. 2 (f). The main objective of the university is to improve the knowledge of science and technology for the development of mankind. The campus of the university is spread over a campus of 110 acres of land with excellent infrastructure. The campus is located at about 15 km from the city of Ahmadabad and the university can easily be reached from the capital of Gujarat Gandhinagar. As mentioned earlier, the university is offering excellent infrastructure and this is offered in the form of canteen, hostels, library, computer laboratories, classrooms, seminar rooms and auditoriums. These facilities offer a fantastic learning experience to the students and teaching experience to the faculty members of the university. The campus of the university also includes an excellent library with over 79000 books, 4700 electronic Medias, 376 videos, 7000 online journals, 787 print periodicals and 19 online database. The university also includes central computer facilities with more than 1200 systems and 25 servers that are inter-connected through eight MBPS leased line internet connectivity and optic cables.  The campus also includes two hostel buildings for meeting the residential requirements of the post-graduate students. For day scholars, the university is operating buses from all corners of the city.
