There are twenty papers overall in the two years of M.Com from Netaji Subhas Open University. Each year has ten papers, and the name of the second paper or Paper 2 in 1st Year is Managerial Economics. The maximum mark of the paper is fifty marks and has two hours as exam duration. The entire paper has been partitioned into two segments i.e. Module I and Module II.  Module I has four different parts, namely Introduction to Managerial Economics, Decision Analysis-Tools & Techniques, Demand Analysis and Production & Cost Analysis. Module II has three different parts, namely Market Structure, Theories of the Firm and Market-Failure: Externalities and Public Goods.

A maximum of 25 marks questions are asked from each of the modules. Each Module is again divided into two sections, Section A and Section B. Both Short as well as long answer based questions is asked in the exam. Candidates are offered internal options in the exam. They are required to answer 1 out of 2 or 1 out of 3 in each of the sections. Candidates are advised to practice different Mock based questions as well as follow different suggestion offered by the University itself. Solving previous year based questions also play a very decisive role during the preparation, as it helps the candidates to retain the pattern as well as nature of probable question, which can come in the present exam.
