Medical Colleges:

The government-run medical colleges located in the city of Chennai offer MBBS course in addition to several other post graduate courses like M.D and M.S in different branches of medicine and also diploma courses in different branches of medicine. In these government medical colleges admission is offered only for Indian citizens and admission is done through Tamil Nadu state quota.

While the first three colleges in the list of five government-run medical colleges are meant for allopathic medical education, the other two colleges are meant for siddha and unani medical disciplines respectively. These colleges offer Bachelor of Siddha Medical Science and Bachelor of Unani Medical Science courses and other PG courses as well.

Dental College:

Tamil Nadu Government Dental College is the only government dental college functioning in the city and the college is affiliated to Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University. The college is offering BDS course at the UG level and MDS with different the following specializations:
