The KPSC exam conducted by the Karnataka government is one of the entry level exams which have to be cleared in order to get into any public sector jobs. This exam helps in providing jobs in various departments, one of them being the mathematics department. The paper provides the provision to answer the questions in English or in Kannada.

How many sections can you expect in this Paper?

The entire paper is divided into four sections.

Paper Pattern and Number of Question Asked

There are a total of twenty two questions divided amongst the four sections. All the questions in the first three sections have to be compulsorily answered. However candidates have to choose only three questions from the last section. The first section has one question; the second section has ten questions followed by the third section which has six questions. The last section has five questions out of which candidates are required to answer any three. All the questions are of the subjective type and include questions on various theorems along with their proofs.

Division of Marks

The entire paper is of three hundred marks. The first section which has only one question is of twenty marks. The second section has ten questions of ten marks each, hence summing up to a total of hundred marks. The third section has six questions of fifteen marks each. The fourth section has five questions, out of which three questions have to be answered, each question being of thirty marks.

Duration of the Paper

The maximum time allotted for this paper is three hours.
