Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) is an autonomous university in Kochi, Kerala but government owned. It provides engineering degree of all under, post graduate and doctorate level. Digital circuits and logic design is one of its IT department subject in B. Tech degree course of graduation. It deals with the logic designing of the digital circuits and it is an important and a scoring paper. Knowing every topic thoroughly is necessary as questions are set from almost every portion of the syllabus. So, apart from the syllabus, having knowledge about the exam paper also helps.

Hence, for a better understanding of the paper pattern of this subject an explanation on the examination paper has been provided below.

How is the paper pattern?

There are no sections just 10 questions in all, out of which 5 questions must be attempted. There is an ‘or’ between every 2 questions that is; either answer 1 or 2, similarly, either 3 or 4 and so on.

What is the marks distribution like?

This paper is of 100 marks. Each question carries 20 marks and if there are sub-parts in any questions then the 20 gets divided accordingly. So, attempting 5 questions in total secures 100 marks.

Hours allotted is?

A total of 3hours is provided to the students for completing the exam.

How should students prepare for the exam?

Students should concentrate more on the basics of Digital Circuits and try to cover all the topics in their syllabus. They must also focus on the previous year’s question papers in order to get an idea about the standard of the paper and what should be the approach towards the paper.
