Commerce paper of the Karnataka Public Service Commission Examination is one such paper which can be selected by any one, as in those who have studied commerce and even those who have not studied commerce in their college days. But surely, those who have not studied commerce will have to put in a lot of effort to understand the basic nuances of the subject. What brings both the categories of the candidates is the paper pattern, because this is where the lies the fundamentals of scoring high marks.

Paper is divided into:

There are total four sections in this paper which are Section A, Section B, Section C and Section D.

Time and marks:

You will be provided with a maximum of 3 hours time to solve the question paper, which would have a maximum of 300 marks.

Paper Pattern:

The paper is available in both the Kannada and English languages. The candidates can answer the question in any of the languages but they have to specify it at the time of form fill up. The questions from the Section A, B and C are compulsory while only three questions of the Section D is required to be answered correctly. The entire question is subjective type having word limitation for each one of the section. Section A or the first section of the question paper contains 20 marks and the word limitation for each of the question is 50 words. Section B of this paper contains 100 marks and the word limit for each of the questions is 100 words. Section C of the paper contains a maximum of 90 marks with a word limitation of 150 words for each section while the Section D of this paper also contains 90 marks with a word limit of300 words.
