In today’s fast moving world, a graduation is nothing. You need to acquire post graduation in order to be of some value. Netaji Subhas Open University is one of the best universities in the country and offers P.G courses in History. One of the papers that the P.G students of this university have to answer is paper 7A. PG history students have to answer eight papers and paper 7A is one of them.

Information on the subject and paper pattern

The paper is about Indian history and is very important as far as Indian history students are concerned. This paper covers an area of Indian history which is most important and most exciting.

The paper is divided into three sections A, B and C. Sections A, B and C consists of four, six, eight questions respectively. The paper is totally descriptive. The candidates have to attempt two, three, four questions from each section respectively. The paper is printed in English and Hindi. Section A consists of short answer questions. Section B consists of essay answer type questions and section C consists of long answer type questions.  The questions are from Indian history of the 19th and 20th centuries.

Marking scheme and duration of paper

The total paper is marked out of 100. Section A and B contributes 36 marks each. Section C contributes 28 marks. Marks are allotted for points and there is no point in simply elaborating. Answering has to be done according to the question.

The paper is for a total of three hours and the candidates need to have good grasp on the topics to complete the answering the questions in the right time. Prior to the start of the exam, the question paper will be distributed to the candidates and they have to spend fifteen minutes on reading the question paper.
