Border Security Force was formed on December 1, 1965 as a border patrol agency under Government of India. The force was incorporated as a component of the paramilitary forces of India. The force mainly aims to gaurd international borders of the country during peacetime. Preventing transnational crime is also one of the primary objective of the force. The force comes under the administrative control of Ministry of Home Affairs. There are approximately 240000 personnel employed in the force. The force is even considered as the largest border patrol forces in the world.

Job Profile:

Applications are invited from eligible male Indian citizens for the following positions of Head Constable (Radio Operator), Head Constable (Fitter) and Assistant Sub Inspector (Radio Mechanic) in BSF Communication Wing of Directorate General Border Security Force.

1. Recruitment of Head Constable (Radio Operator):
No. of posts: Only 679 posts are available.
Age Limit: Minimum age limit is 18 years and Maximum age limit is 23 years.
Educational Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent with two years ITI certificate in Radio and TV or Electronics. 10+2 passed candidates with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics as main subjects from a recognized board, are also eligible to apply.
Pay Scale: Rs. 5200-20200 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 2400.

2. Recruitment of Head Constable (Fitter):
No. of posts: Only 25 posts are available.
Age Limit: Minimum age limit is 18 years and Maximum age limit is 23 years.
Educational Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent with two years ITI certificate in Enginer Fitter or Diesel Mechanic or Automobile or Motor Mechanic. 10+2 passed candidates with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics as main subjects from a recognized board, are also eligible to apply.
Pay Scale: Rs. 5200-20200 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 2400.

3. Recruitment of Assistant Sub Inspector (Radio Mechanic):
No. of posts: Only 180 posts are available.
Age Limit: Minimum age limit is 18 years and Maximum age limit is 25 years.
Educational Qualification: Matriculation with Diploma in Radio and TV Technology or Electronics or Telecommunication or Computer or Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. 10+2 passed candidates with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics as main subjects from a recognized board, are also eligible to apply.
Pay Scale: Rs. 5200-20200 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 2800.

Application Fee:

Payment of the prescribed amount of application feee is must before applying for any of the above specified post. A crossed Bank Draft or Indian Postal Order of Rs. 50 is need to be sent alongwith the application by General and OBC categories candidates. No application fee is to be submitted by SC/ST candidates. The bak draft should be made in favour of The Inspector General or DIG/Comdt (to whom the application is to be addressed) payable at respective SBI or Post Officer.

Selection Process:

Recruitment of candidates will be made in two phases: a) Written Test b) Documentation, PST, PET, Dictation Test, Interview and Final Medical.

First Phase will be held on 25 September 2011 and Second Phase will be held on 10 October 2011.

How to apply: Attested copies of educational certificates, date of birth certificates, three recent passport size photographs are need to be sent alongwith the bank draft and completed application form. SC/ST/OBC candidates are required to send the attested photocopy of their caste certificate. All the enclosures must be kept in an envelope and should be submitted to the designated officers as stated in the detailed advertisement.
