Navik (General Duty/Domestic Branch), Indian Coast Guard
Indian Coast Guard is a part of a Ministry of Defence. It is also considered as a branch of the Indian Armed Forces with the mission of protecting the maritime interests of India. Indian Coast Gaurd actually came into existence on August 18, 1978. Vice Admiral Anil Chopra is the Director General of the gaurd. There are approximatley 5440 personnel working in Indian Coast Gaurd. Indian Coast Guard was formally established as an armed force of the Union by the Coast gaurd Act, 1978. It functions bunder the Department of Defence of the Union Ministry of Defence.
Job Profile:
Applications are invited from eligible male Indian Nationals for mkaing recruitment on the positions of Naviks (General Duty) or Navik (Domestic Branch) in the Indian Coast Guard. Candidates should check all the eligibility conditions set for the post before applying for it. Applications recieved from uneligible candidates will not be considered by Indian Coast Guard.
Eligibility:
Candidates must have been born between 1 February 1990 to 31 january 1994 (both dates are inclusives). Candidates are required to strictly fulfill this age criteria or else their applications will not be accepted by the Indian Coast Guard. The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST categories candidates and by 3 years for OBC categories candidates.
Educational Qualification:
Navik (General Duty): 10+2 from a recognized board with Maths and Physics as main subjects. Candidates should have passed 10+2 from an education board recognized by Central or State Government.
Navik (Domestic Branch): Candidates should have passed Matriculation from a recognized board.
Candidates should possess the minimum educational qualification set for the post or else they will not be considered eligible for applying in Indian Coast Guard.
No. of posts: Several positions are available.
Pay Scale:
Navik (General Duty): Rs. 5200-20200 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 2000.
Navik (Domestic Branch): Rs. 5200-20200 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 1900.
In addition to the prescribed amount of salary, candidates will also be paid Dearness Allowances, Kit Maintenance Allowance and other Liberal Allowances as admissible.
Selection Process:
Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their higher education and percentage of marks. Shortlisted candidates will be called through the means of Call Up letters. The personal interview test are scheduled to be held during September or October 2011. Candidates are required to being all the original certificates and marksheets at the time of written test.
How to apply: The application should be submitted on a plain paper in the prescribed format. Attested copies of certificates as proof of age, educational qualification etc and a self addresed (unstamped) envelope of size 22*10 cms are also need to be sent alongwith the application form. All the enclosures should be kept in an envelope only. The envelope should be sent to the address of Zonal Recruitment Centre. Applications must be sent by Ordinary post only.
