Indian Coast Gaurd was established in the year 1978 under Government of India. It is one of the branch of Indian Armed Forces and is a part of Ministry of Defence. The force perform all its operations under the Department of Defence. Vice Admiral M. P. Muralidharan is the present Director General of the force. The force works in cooperation with the Departmnent of Fisheries, Indian navy and other central as well as state police forces. The main aim of the force is to protect the maritime interest of the country. Enforcement of maritime laws with jurisdiction over other territorial and international waters, is another majoe objective of the force.

Job Profile:

Indian Coast Guard is offering various jobs of Assistant Commandant General Duty and Assistant Commandant Technical Branch as Group ‘A’ Gazetted Officer. The recruitment drive is being specialized organised for eligible Male and Female Indian Citizens for the Officers posts in Indian Coast Guard -02/2012 Batch.

Vacancies for Male Indian Citizens only:

1. Recruitment of Assistant Commandant General Duty:
Eligibility: Candidates should have been born between 1 July 1987 to 30 June 1991 (both dates are inclusive).
Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree with minimum 60% in aggregate from a recognized university. Candidates should also have secured minimum 60% marks in Maths and Physics at 12th standard or equivalent.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.

2. Recruitment of Assistant Commandant Technical Branch (Electrical):
Eligibility: Candidates should have been born between 1 July 1982 to 30 June 1991 (both dates are inclusive).
Educational Qualification: Degree with minimum 65% in aggregate in Electrical or Telecommunication & Electronic Engineering from a recognized university. .
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.

3. Recruitment of Assistant Commandant General DUty (Pilot/Navigator or Observer):
Eligibility: Candidates should have been born between 1 July 1985 to 30 June 1993 (both dates are inclusive).
Educational Qualification: B.Sc. degree with minimum 55% in aggregate and with Maths & Physics subjects from a recognized university. Candidates should also have secured minimum 60% marks at 12th standard or equivalent.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.

4. Recruitment of Assistant Commandant General DUty (Pilot- Commercial Pilot License Holder):
Eligibility: Candidates should have been born between 1 July 1985 to 30 June 1993 (both dates are inclusive).
Educational Qualification: 12th passed or equivalent with minimum 60% in aggregate from a recognized board. Candidates should also possess valid commercial pilot license approved by DGCA.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.

Medical Standrads:

Height: 157 cms is the minimum height required for the posts of Assistant Commandant General Duty and Technical. 162.5 cms is the minimum height required for the posts of Assistant Commandant (Pilot) and Assistant Commandant Commercial Pilot License holders. Weight should be proportionate to the height and age of candidates.

Eye Sight: Assistant Commandant (GD)- 6/6 without glasses, Assistant Commandant (Pilot/Commercial Pilot License holder)- 6/6 without glasses and Assistant Commandant (Technical): 6/12.
