College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar came into existence in the year 1946 on the 20th of August and it began its functions from the campus of the Osmania University. Later in the year 1964, the college was shifted to the AP Agricultural University and from the year 1996, the college is working under the jurisdiction of the Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University. The college was established with the objective of offering knowledge to the farmers and students of the Telangana region in the agricultural field.

College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar, offers the following courses at the UG, PG and Ph. D levels:

• Master of Science in Agriculture

• Bachelor of Science in Commercial Agriculture & Business Management

• Master of Agri Business Management

• Master of Science in Biotechnology

• Master of Science in Environmental Science & Technology

• Doctor of Philosophy in Agriculture

Admission Procedure:

Admission of students to the UG course offered by the College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar is done based on the merit secured by the students in the Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test, which is conducted by the Andhra Pradesh Government every year. Out of the total number of seats available for each of the UG courses offered by the College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar, 15% of seats are reserved for students belonging to other states of India for which Common Entrance Test is conducted by the Government of India.

For admission of students to the PG Courses offered by the College of Agriculture, merit secured by the students in the Common Entrance Test for all PG courses conducted by the university is taken into consideration.

In the case of Ph. D course, fresh students are admitted through Common Entrance Test and personal interview, while in-service candidates are selected based on their performance in the interview organized by the university.

Teaching Methodology:

Since agricultural subjects are practical oriented, the college uses practical components like specimens of different pests, crops, diagrams of certain physiological process, etc… Some of the equipments like Audio-visual aids, Slide Projector, OHP for depicting the transparencies are used by the college for effective teaching.

Placement Record:

Right from the inception of the college, the placement cell has been functioning effectively for the benefit of the students. Many industries, banks and private companies are requesting the college for recruitment of graduates as marketing managers, field officers, probationary officers, etc…and the college offers placement opportunities to the students by inviting companies to conduct campus interviews. Some of the companies like Trident Sugars, Reliance Industries Limited, ITC, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, Pro-Agro Seeds and Syndicate Bank recruit talents from the college every year.
