Educational qualification:

A candidate becomes eligible to apply for the position Sister Grade II, if he/she has completed their matriculation or equivalent examination from an approved board of education and after completion of this course, they must have done certificate course in General Nursing & Midwifery course from a recognized institution. In addition, they should also have registered themselves as A grade nurses in the state nursing council of the state in which the applications are invited or the Nursing Council of India. In the aforesaid notification, they are Punjab Nursing Council and Delhi Nursing Council respectively.

Age requirement:

What are the responsibilities of the candidates appointed for the position of Sister Grade – II?

Normally, the responsibilities entrusted to a Sister Grade II candidate are classified into two broad categories namely direct patient management and ward management. Direct Patient Care includes all activities starting from the admission of a patient till his/her discharge. Some of the responsibilities under this category are:

• Administration of injections and medicines to the patient

• Maintaining of personal hygiene of the patients

• Counseling to patients and their relatives

• Observation, recording and reporting of all sorts of treatments offered to the patient

• Assist in rehabilitation, ambulation and physiotherapy to the patient

• Distribution of diets, maintaining diet sheet and supervising the same

• Escorting the patient from and to the ward for investigation

Some of the duties coming under the ward management category include:

• Keeping the ward tidy and clean

• Taking over or handing over charge of patients and ward inventory in each shift

• Maintaining interpersonal relationship with health team members, relatives of patients and patients

• Preparation of surgical supplies

• Participation in staff meetings and staff education

• Performance of any other duty as given by the Sister Grade I
