Scientists, Central Leather Research Institute
Institute profile: Central leather research institute is one of the premier institutes and was found in the year 1948 and since then it is actively involved in extensive research in the field of leather. It is the world’s largest leather research institute. It also provides education and training in the leather sector.
Job profile: The scientists will be required to work in different areas like micro biology & bio-materials, chemical engineering, biotechnology etc and they will be required to work for leather processing, carry out R&D work, design and execution etc.
Eligibility: A candidate must not exceed the age of 40 years in case of scientists grade IV (3) and 35 years in case of grade IV (2) as on 18.09.2009. However, relaxation can be claimed.
Educational Qualifications: For scientist grade IV (3) – A candidate must be a PhD in the relevant field with a relevant experience in the related field and in research and development. For scientist grade IV (2) – A candidate must be a PhD/M.Sc/B.TECH/M.TECH/MCA in the relevant field with a relevant experience.
No. of posts: There are 20 posts in total which includes 5 posts for scientists in grade IV (3) and 15 for grade IV (2).
Pay scale: The scientists will be given a pay scale of Rs15600-39100 but the pay scale for the scientists in grade IV (3) will be Rs7600 and that of a scientist in grade IV (2) will be Rs6600.
Selection procedure: A candidate will have to appear in an interview before the selection committee. The selections will be based on merit.
How to apply: The candidates are required to apply as per the format available on the website. The candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs100 in the form of a DD to be drawn in the drawn in the favor of Director, CLRI payable at Chennai. The candidates are required to send the copies of their supporting documents. All the applications must be sent to Controller of Administration, CLRI, SP Road, Adyar, Chennai – 600020
The last date for the receipt of applications is 18th September 2009.
