Most employers, prefer candidates with PG in plant breeding or genetics or Doctor of Philosophy in genetics and plant breeding would be preferred. These courses are being offered by agricultural colleges in India and for pursuing a PG course in plant breeding a graduation in agriculture is essential. This field is also open for PG degree holders in Botany along with basic courses in agriculture.
