Department of Ayurveda, Himachal Pradesh shortly called as DAHP is a department functioning under the government of Himachal Pradesh with head office in the city of Shimla. The department aims at spreading the knowledge of ayurveda among people and at telling them about the uses and benefits of Ayurveda. The department came into existence in the year 1984.

The Department of Ayurveda of Himachal Pradesh has called for applications from bonafied residents of HP on contract basis for the position of Ayurvedic Pharmacist and here are the details regarding the notification issued by the department in this regard:

Name of the Vacancy: Ayurvedic Pharmacist

Number of Vacancies: Total number of vacancies is 54, which is divided among the different categories as follows:

• Orthopedically handicapped candidates – 09 (general-06, SC-01, OBC-02)

• Ex-Servicemen – 45 (general-26, SC-09, OBC-08, ST-02)

Pay Brand: Candidates appointed for the position of Ayurvedic Pharmacist will be coming under the pay brand of Rs.5910-20200+3000 as Grade Pay.

Eligibility requirements:

Educational qualification: candidates must fulfill the following requirements:

• 10+2 or its equivalent from a recognized board or university

• Successful training of minimum of two years in compounder or ayurvedic pharmacist or D. Pharma/B. Pharma (Ayurveda) recognized by the H.P. Takniki Shiksha Board/University recognized by the state government of HP.

Desirable qualification: knowledge of dialects, manners and custom of the state of Himachal Pradesh and suitability for appointment in peculiar condition prevailing in the state.

Age: The minimum age limit is 18 years and maximum age limit is 45 years as on the 1st of January 2012 and upper age limit is relaxable according to the rules of state government.
